Regarding Schengen visa please read related pages on this website.
General information on Schengen visa
Schengen visas are issued by: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and Sweden.
If you are not sure whether you require a visa to visit a particular Schengen country, please call that country's embassy.
If you need further information on a visa for Denmark please contact the Embassy.
The issue of Schengen visas is discretionary and depends on
examination of each individual case, including purpose of
visit and intention to return.
A Schengen visa is not appropriate if you wish to remain in a
Schengen country for longer than 3 months or take up
employment or establish a business or trade or profession.
Apart from these so called short-term or travel visas there
are 2 other types of Schengen visas:
The airport transit visa
allows holders to pass through the
international zone of an airport of a Schengen member state
without access to the national territory of the Schengen
member state.
Nationals of the following countries require an airport
transit visa to transit through a Danish airport:
Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Congo(The Democratic Republic),
Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia and Sri Lanka, unless they are residents in an EU member state, an EEA country, USA or Canada with permission to return at least 3 months after transiting Denmark.
For India please note that an airport transit visa is not required for Indian nationals in possession of a valid visa to an EU or EEA country, USA or Canada.
The transit visa enables applicants to pass through the territory of one or more Schengen member states on their way to another country outside the Schengen area.
Please note that the documents required for both the airport
transit visa and the transit visa may differ from those required for the short stay entry visa.
The following visa information only concerns applications for
short term visas:
Please note that holders of a Schengen visa are still subject to immigration control and are not guaranteed entry into any of the Schengen countries, even though they may hold a valid visa for these countries.
